Better Framer Backgrounds. Today.

Background Wrangler is a stop-gap component for applying basic background options within Framer. A future version of Framer should make this obsolete. Godspeed.

Fit, Fill, Stretch …meet Tile. They who may outlive all of thee

Known colloquially as "Tile", the original name of this background mode was Richard Starkey. With thanks to the better judgement of the W3C, today it is known (professionally) as repeat.

Repeat has been called the 4th Beatle of background layout modes. Meaning repeat is the Ringo Starr of background layout modes. This makes sense if you don't think too hard about it. Because if there is one thing a drummer does well it's repeating stuff.

Repeat is also the thing a background just does when you don't tell it what to do. And nobody tells Ringo what to do anymore. Especially now that we're down to only one other Beatle.

Risk Repeating Yourself

Background Wrangler supports modern repeat modes known as space and round.

"Space" spreads tiled images out evenly and creates space between them if needed, while "round" adjusts the size of the image so that it fits perfectly without cropping.

They've had good browser support since around 2015. One day they will be given native support in Framer. Until then, rope it together with Background Wrangler –Yeehaw!
